On Tuesday, 26th September, a few library officers and staff were invited to ‘Siri Webinar dan Sidang Kemuncak Galakan Budaya Membaca 2023’ with the theme of ‘Brunei Membaca’ at the Balai Sarmayuda, Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka, Berakas.
Our library also had the privilege of sharing our poster presentation in the presence of the Guest of Honour of the event, the Honourable Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohammad, the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. Represent the library, Puan Dk Noraini binti Pg Hj Idris, Senior Librarian presented her part on the relation of the theme ‘Brunei Membaca’ in UBD contexts where the UBD community preferences are more into reading and doing researches from e-Resources.
Another Senior Librarian, Tuan Ahmad Safwan bin Hj Jalil talked about how the Universiti Brunei Darussalam Library is actively promoting open-access resources to improve research accessibility and provide valuable materials for the local community in the hope of aligning with the University’s goals, Brunei’s SDGs, and Vision 2035.
