Bicara Graduan: ‘Nafkah Isteri Dan Anak dalam Undang-Undang Keluarga Islam: Kajian Perbandingan Akta di Negara Brunei Darussalam dan Malaysia serta Kefahaman Masyarakat Brunei by Dr Hamejah Al-Mutawassinah Binti Metussin.

29^th September 2022 – Officers and staff of UBD Library, as well as graduates, had attended the fourth Bicara Graduan, a learning program where UBD researchers break down and unfold their research or thesis content to the UBD community especially research students.

Dr Nurul Hamejah Al-Mutawassinah Binti Metussin is from Sultan Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Centre for Islamic Studies, Universiti Brunei Darussalam.

The thesis study is aimed at reviewing the Wife and Child Marriage Act in Brunei Darussalam and the state of Sabah, Malaysia to meet the needs of contemporary wives and children.

30th June 2022 –  was held by IBTE students who had completed their three months internship program in UBD Library.

The students namely:

1) Dygku Nurazimatul Hajeedah Binti Pg Azhar
2) Nur Batrisya Afiqah Binti Nordin.

The two IBTE students enrolling in HNTec program in Information and Library Studies (ICT02/H/ILS/05) started their internship from 02nd April 2022 until 30th June 2022. Thank you for all the contributions and hardwork given to UBD Library. We wish you all the best in your future endeavours.

2nd July 2022 – Thank you for coming to UBD Library. International School Brunei (ISB) is one of our long standing corporate members. They came for an educational visit to gain knowledge on what the library can offer to assist them in their IB Diploma Programme. The tour was headed by Yong Chuan Chee.

Good luck in your studies and hope to meet you all again here in the future. It was a real pleasure to meet all of you!

The Cooperation Dialogue, jointly organised by the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Brunei Darussalam and UBD and will run for 3 days from 5th to 7th July 2022, in conjunction with the 3rd Brunei Darussalam – the Sultanate of Oman Joint Committee meeting (BOJC) that took place on Monday, 4th July 2022, between the Ministry of Finance and Economy, Brunei Darussalam and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Investment Promotion of the Sultanate of Oman. It comprises an Investment Forum (6th July 2022), Education Forum (7th July) and the Sultanate of Oman Heritage and Tourism Exhibition (5th to 7th July 2022). Themed “Together We Collaborate For a Better Future”, the dialogue’s objective is to promote investment, higher education and tourism opportunities in the Sultanate of Oman and Brunei Darussalam and is sponsored by Oman Brunei Investment Company (OBIC).

His Excellency Sheikh Ahmed Hashil Al Maskari, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Brunei Darussalam delivered the welcoming remarks, followed by a special address by the Guest of Honour and a keynote address by Fathi Al Balushi, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Oman Brunei Investment Company (OBIC). Present at the ceremony were Dr Hajah May Fa’ezah Haji Ahmad Ariffin, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Finance and Economy, His Excellency Dr Saleh Saeed Al-Masn, Undersecretary of the Sultanate of Oman Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Investment Promotion for Trade and Industry and Dr Hazri Haji Kifle, Vice Chancellor of UBD, senior government officials and Heads of Diplomatic Missions.”
