Description: Inspec is one of the most important and frequently used A&I databases that evolved from the prestigious “Science Abstract” (SA, Science Abstract), which started in 1898. The Database contains over 22 million records of research literature (over 17% OA content with DOI to access full text free). Each record is manually indexed with precise underlying index fields (e.g., Inspec Thesaurus, chemical and numerical indexes, etc.) to enable users to search precisely and efficiently. Inspec covers the areas of Physics, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Computing & Control, and Mechanical & Production Engineering.

03 February 2023 – The UBD Library held a farewell ceremony for Dyg Norsinah bte Jainuddin, who has served in the public sector since 1983, with the UBD Library as her last place of employment as Assistant Library Officer Grade II. Dyg Siti Nur Hafizah Binti Hassim, who has served for 2 years in the UBD Library since 2020. Ak Mohammad Hamirul Fadillah bin Pg Hamdani, Pekerja Tingkat IV, who has served for 7.5 years in the UBD Library since 2014. The special event was attended by Dk Noraini Binti Pg Hj Idris, Acting Chief Librarian, Heads of Divisions, officers, and staff of UBD library.

16th January 2023 – The IPA representatives had a great time exploring the resources and gaining knowledge at UBD library during their working visit and looking forward to future collaborations.

12th January 2023 – Delegates from Defence Academy paid a visit to UBD Library as part of Command and Staff Course (CSC) .

The objective of the visit was to provide the delegates with an insight of UBD Library services, collections and facilities. The briefing was delivered by Awang Ahmad Safwan bin Haji Jalil, Head of Research Information Services Division. During the Q&A session, delegates inquired regarding library membership, downloading materials, ebooks etc.

The delegates later went for a guided tour around the library where Awang Ahmad Safwan bin Haji Jalil highlighted appropriate research materials and resources as well as introducing each location and use of the collection available in the library.
