A few selected UBD Library Officers and Staff attended ‘Seminar Kebangsaan Pembantu Pustakwan 2023: Literasi Digital Pemangkin Profesionalisme Pembantu Perpustakaan Nusantara’ for 2 consecutive days from 22nd to 23rd August 2023.

On Wednesday, 23rd August 2023, during the second day of the event, Dyg Nur Hairunnnisa binti Abd Razak, a Library Assistant Grade 1 representing the UBD Library, participated as a guest panelist in the Hybrid session titled ‘Digital Skills Demands and Employment Challenges: Sharing Experiences’ via the Webex online application.

She has shared some of her experiences with other libraries on how to handle the challenges, digital literacy skills, and problem-solving solutions that are needed when working in the ever-evolving digital world of the library field. As well as how to create creative content and ways to attract audiences for the library’s social media.

21st August 2023-Springer Nature had organized the Online Quizzes with UBD Library.

22nd August 2023- Post-graduate students, academic and librarians attended the “Emerald: Guide to Getting publishing” and “Let’s Explore Emerald Insight” webinar by Bernice Wong, Business Manager, Emerald Publishing.

The objective was to teach users finding the right journal, journal aims, per review process, learning to navigate Emerald Database, search, advance search, filter and getting the best research and teaching resources.

This webinar was jointly organised with Emerald and UBD Library.

11th August 2023 – A sharing session on Telemetry devices was conducted by Aaron Awang Sitai, Spark Solutions entitled: “Total Fleet Management with Vehicle Telematics” which was later followed by a Question & Answer session.

10th August 2023 – Our Information Literacy Skills class for SB-1203 Skills in Biological Sciences for undergraduate degree students this semester.

Here we teach UBD library’s accessing & searching online resources as well as services and facilities available.

1st August 2023 – UBD Library officers attended the 18th AUNILO Opening Ceremony and Country Report Presentations held in Malaysia. Representing UBD Library are Haji Awang Muhammad Yussuf bin POKIDDP Haji Awang Musa, Assistant Chief Librarian and Awang Ahmad Safwan bin Haji Jalil, Senior Librarian. This year’s host country is Malaysia and the host institution is Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) with the theme “Co-Creating the Future of Libraries: Empowering Academic Librarians for Innovation and Impact.” The Country Report for UBD Library was presented by Awang Ahmad Safwan bin Haji Jalil, Senior Librarian.

The 18th AUNILO Meeting will be held in 3 consecutive days from 1st to 3rd August 2022. In the spirit of collaboration and sharing of best practices, Day 1 will be in hybrid mode, with open registration to the public via Zoom Webinar. In the business meeting on Day 2 (August 2), head librarians of AUNILO Member Libraries will discuss network matters, followed by the formal handover of the Secretariat role to Singapore.
